Roger and Sanne Fawcett-Tang founded Struktur Design in 1996. Over this time their aims and ambitions have remained focused on pure modernistic, minimalistic design for print. The company has won numerous awards for its typographically strong work and has been featured in carious international design annuals. Roger has written two design related books; Experimental Formats and Mapping, both published by Rotovision/Rockport. Last year the company made the unconventional decision of moving from Londons EC1 design epicenter to the rural flatlands of Norfolk, where the company now operates from a large Georgian manor house.
Twentyfour hour clock is part of an ongoing project by Roger Fawcett-Tang at Struktur Design looking at time systems, and works as a direct extension of the calendars and diaries produced over the last six years by Struktur. The piece sets out every second, minute and hour of a twenty four hour time period, with each time measuring unit reproduced in progressively larger point sizes. The positions of minutes and hours are determined by the seconds, which are printed in ten second increments.
